Speaking

Born with a gift for gab, Carol says, “My daddy always said I was vaccinated with a Victrola needle when I was born.” If you’re not old enough to know the meaning of that word, the Victrola was the 1905 trademark of a phonograph, an early record player, from Victor Talking Machine Co. However, in the past, speaking before my peers was a challenge I not only avoided, but dreaded. Making a “C” in college speech didn’t boost my confidence either. But, God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips the called. So, it is with the Holy Spirit as my guide that I offer the following speaking topics:

“Are you a Worry Wart?” Do you let everyday stresses get the best of you? Do you worry about what you will eat and drink? Birds don’t seem to worry so why should we. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God” –Philippians 4:6.

“Don’t look at your Bottom in the Dressing Room Mirror” Do you wrestle with the image you see in the dressing room mirror? Does it reveal every lump, bump and dimple and the body parts that are going south like geese in the winter? Do you wish you looked like the models on the covers of the glamour magazines? Why do we compare ourselves to others? Need an incentive to start moving and caring for the body with which God has blessed you? “Do you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore, honor God with your body” –1 Corinthians 6:19-20.

“I’m not Martha Stewart” Are you tired, worn out and frazzled? Maybe a new word invented by a friend of mine describes you–frustacated. It’s a combination of frustrated and aggravated. Or maybe you’re a Martha Stewart wannabe, trying to follow her example of having the perfect house, to be the perfect hostess or having the perfect yard? “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” Matthew 11:28.

“Journaling with Jesus” Do you find it difficult in your busy day to spend time with God? Do you find yourself falling asleep when you spend time alone in prayer? Do you find that your prayer life has become stale? Maybe you need to try Journaling with Jesus. “…let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water” –Hebrews 10:22

“Perfecting Your Personality” How much baggage are you carrying? Have you looked in the mirror lately? Did you know that God is calling you? (A three-speech presentation for two-day retreats.) “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known” 1 Corinthians 13:12.

“Sharing Your Faith Story”God has called us to be ambassadors for Christ. How can we share our faith story without beating someone over the head with the Bible? “So we are Christ’s official messengers. It is as if God were making his appeal through us. Here is what Christ wants us to beg you to do. Come back to God!”—2 Corinthians 5:20.

The topics above are just a sampling of the subjects on which Carol has been invited to speak. If your women’s group has a theme, just let her know because God always has a message to share through Carol’s experiences. Need help planning your retreat or workshop? Carol can do that too. I’d love to discuss topics with you, and share from my extensive list of other sessions that might suit your audience. No question is too big or too small! I would be honored and blessed to serve your group.

A conference or meeting without Carol as a speaker is one that will fail to benefit from the Light of the Lord Carol brings through her testimony.

Vivianna Fancher

I was privileged to hear Carol’s testimony at a ladies’ retreat. She speaks from the heart and her story is inspiring to women, especially because so many are able to relate to situations from her life. Carol’s love for the Lord shines through her and truly touches hearts when she shares about her relationship with Him. I highly recommend her for any speaking engagement or conference.

Lorraine Holman, Christian author

When Carol spoke at our Fall Women’s retreat, ‘Purse-onalities with a Purpose,’ she brought great insight into our ‘baggage’ and how God can carry all of our burdens for us. We just have to be willing to turn it all over to Him. Carol had great stories, scripture and lessons on our theme and I enjoyed having her as a part of our worship team.
